Privacy Policy: What PaintAdditives.org Collects, Why and Your Choices

This privacy policy sets out what PaintAdditives.org collects through its 3 forms, why each form asks for it, who receives a request and how long it is kept. Reading any page needs no account, no sign-in and no form.

PaintAdditives.org is an independent reference on paint additives that sells no additive, compiled from named primary sources such as ECHA, EUR-Lex, eCFR, EPA, ASTM, ISO and BIS. The full set of paint additives pages is free to read without sending anything.

What Does PaintAdditives.org Collect?#

PaintAdditives.org stores only what you type into one of its 3 forms, together with the page the form was sent from and the time it was sent. The table compares the 3 forms, the fields each asks for and where the data goes.

Form Fields you enter Stored with it Purpose Leaves the editorial team?

Formulation-help request, on paint-type, defect and regulation pages: paint formulations by paint type, paint defects and the additives that prevent them, paint additive regulations Paint type, problem, current additive package, location, email Source page, time Provider match Yes, to independent formulation consultants and testing labs

No account and no payment data exist on the site. Cloudflare hosts the site, delivers its pages and operates the database that stores form submissions. The stored record holds no IP address. A hidden field filters automated spam; it holds nothing you type, and a request that fills it is dropped.

What Reading the Site Collects#

Site search runs in your browser against a published page index, so the words you search for are not sent to PaintAdditives.org. Reading pages needs no form, and the forms above store nothing about a visit. A search, a table or a link followed from one page to another creates no record on the site.

Why Each Form Asks for What It Does#

Each of the 3 forms has one purpose, and each field exists to serve it. The 3 purposes are listed below in table order, with the reason for the fields that need one. A field that does not serve the purpose is not asked for, which is why no form asks for a phone number, a company registration or a payment detail.

  • Quote request: delivery country and annual volume let a supplier price an offer, and grade and packaging say what to offer.
  • Formulation-help request: paint type, problem and current additive package let a consultant or lab see the starting point, and a compliance question names the rule it concerns.
  • Contact message: topic, page concerned and message tell the editorial team what to answer or correct.

Which Pages Carry No Form?#

Most pages carry no form at all. Substance pages, family hubs and the pages on paint test methods show a link to the quote request instead of collecting anything themselves, so reading them stores nothing. A question about a test method, a lab or a sample goes through the formulation-help request, which names the test in its problem field, or through the contact form. A form that is removed stops collecting on the day it goes, and the records it already holds keep the same 24-month limit and the same right to see, correct or delete them as every other request.

Who Receives Your Request?#

Two of the 3 forms pass a request on: quotes go to independent producers and distributors, and formulation-help requests, compliance questions included, to independent consultants and testing labs. A quote request reaches producers and distributors of the additive named in it. This site names no company as a receiver, and no receiver pays for a place in editorial content. The contact message is the one form that never leaves the editorial team. What a receiver does with a request after it arrives is outside this page, so send only what the request needs.

The same disclosure sits under every form on the site. Requests reach independent providers and suppliers, and no listing on this site is paid for; read the editorial policy.

Which Submissions Stay With the Editorial Team?#

Contact messages stay with the editorial team and are never passed to a supplier or provider. A correction is used only to check and fix the page it names, and a fixed error is dated on that page. A message that asks a question is used to answer it and for no other purpose.

Cookies, Analytics and Advertising#

PaintAdditives.org runs no analytics service and shows no advertising, and its own pages and forms set no tracking cookie. No analytics or ad vendor receives reader data, so no outside company counts visits, builds a reader profile or shows a reader a targeted advertisement on this site. The only data the site stores is what a reader chooses to send through a form.

A new outside service that would receive reader data is described on this page before it starts, and the "Updated" date at the top of the page moves when that happens.

How Long PaintAdditives.org Keeps Your Data#

Quote and formulation-help requests and contact messages are kept for 24 months from the date they were sent. You can ask for earlier deletion, as the next section describes. The 24 months apply alike to the 2 request forms and the contact message because each holds the same kind of record: the fields typed, the source page and the time.

How to See, Correct or Delete Your Data#

Email editorial@paintadditives.org from the address you used and say whether you want to see, correct or delete what you sent. The same request can go through the contact form.

Three requests are open to every reader:

  • See what you sent.
  • Correct it.
  • Delete it.

Name the form and roughly when you sent it, so the record can be found. A record is found by the fields it holds, because it stores no IP address. A reader who sends a request to see, correct or delete data gets it handled by the editorial team, never by a supplier.

How This Privacy Policy Changes#

Every change to this privacy policy moves the "Updated" date at the top of the page. A new form, a new kind of receiver or a new outside service is described here before it takes effect.

Who publishes the site and how it stays independent is set out in about PaintAdditives.org.
