Contact PaintAdditives.org

PaintAdditives.org takes messages through one address, editorial@paintadditives.org, and one contact form, and both reach the PaintAdditives.org Editorial Team. The editorial team handles corrections and source suggestions for this independent reference on paint additives; quotes, formulation help, testing-lab matches and compliance questions have their own forms.

The site covers 15 families of paint additives for liquid paints and sells no additive. This page says which request belongs on which form, what a correction request contains, and how long a message is kept: 24 months for form data.

How we check: regulations and classifications are read at the body that issues them, standards at the standards body, and every additive level names its basis and its source; the full method is in methodology and fact-checking.

How to Reach the Editorial Team#

The editorial team reads every message sent to editorial@paintadditives.org or through the form on this page, and it answers by email.

The form asks for a topic, the page concerned, an optional name, an email address and the message. Messages go to the editorial team only and are never passed to a supplier, a producer or a distributor, whatever the topic chosen.

Write to the editorial team

Name the page and the statement, and add the primary source if you have it.

10 to 5,000 characters. For a correction, quote the statement and give the source with its date or edition.

Which Request Goes Where?#

The site handles 6 request types: corrections and source suggestions go to the editorial team, and each of the other four has its own form.

Request What to send Where it goes Who receives it
Correction Page, statement, primary source with date The form on this page PaintAdditives.org Editorial Team
Source suggestion Issuing body, document, date The form on this page PaintAdditives.org Editorial Team
Supplier quote Family or substance, grade, paint type, annual volume, packaging, delivery country request quotes for paint additives Independent producers and distributors
Formulation help Paint type, problem, current additive package, location paint formulations by paint type, form on each paint-type and defect page Independent formulation consultants and testing labs
Testing-lab match Test method, sample count, location paint test methods, form on each test page Independent testing labs
Compliance review VOC, biocide, CLP label or restricted-substance question paint additive regulations Independent providers

Corrections and Source Suggestions#

A correction names the page and the statement, and a source suggestion names the issuing body and the document; both reach the editorial team through the form.

A confirmed error is fixed on the page and the change is dated. A newer official source replaces the value it updates, as the editorial policy sets out. The correction is made on the page itself, so a reader who follows the same source later finds the same value, with the date of the change shown beside it.

Supplier Quotes, Formulation Help and Testing Labs#

Supplier quotes go through the quote form, formulation help through the form on each paint-type and defect page, and testing-lab matches through the form on each test page.

The quote form asks for the family or substance, grade, paint type, annual volume, packaging and delivery country. The formulation-help form asks for the paint type, the problem, the current additive package and the location; the lab form asks for the test method, the sample count and the location.

Prices come only from suppliers, and the site publishes none. The page on paint additive suppliers and manufacturers sets out how buyers compare producers and distributors before they send a specification.

Regulatory Questions#

Questions on VOC rules, biocide approvals, CLP labels or restricted substances go to the compliance review form on the regulation pages.

What to Include in a Correction Request#

A correction request is complete when it names 4 things: the page URL, the statement as printed, the primary source with its date, and the value the source gives.

  • The page URL where the statement appears.
  • The statement as printed on the page.
  • The primary source with its date: ECHA, EUR-Lex, eCFR, EPA, SCAQMD, CARB, OEHHA, IMO, ASTM, ISO, CEN, BIS or PubChem. A producer data sheet supports only the value of its own product.
  • The value the source gives.

Copies of standards or laws on third-party sites and encyclopedias are not accepted as the source.

What the Editorial Team Does Not Answer#

The editorial team does not answer requests outside liquid paint additives, such as DIY add-ins sold by brand, art and craft paints, auto refinishing or paint removal, and it does not confirm that a named product meets a legal requirement.

It gives no medical advice; the product safety data sheet and the regulator are the sources for exposure questions. It states no prices, and it sends no copies of standards or laws; the standards body and the issuing authority hold those texts.

What Happens to Your Message#

Messages sent through the contact form are kept for 24 months and used only to answer and to correct the site.

The site runs no analytics and no ad vendors, and it shows no ads on trust pages, so no third party receives data from a visit to this page. Retention and your choices are set out in the privacy policy.

How PaintAdditives.org Stays Independent#

PaintAdditives.org stays independent because it sells no additive, ranks no producer and takes no payment for a listing, and requests reach independent providers and suppliers.
